Update Whiddon Down is not open
Whiddon Down is a small West Devon village on the edge of Dartmoor and the only place of worship within three miles. The church is trying to exercise a Christian presence in a small rural community with Sunday services. Trying to maintain the church building (1906) and adjoining graveyard proves increasingly challenging for an elderly congregation with limited resources. The numbers attending worship are generally small except for the Christmas Carol service, the Harvest Festival service and especially the Good Friday service which draws additional support from across a wide area.
